UPDATE 09/04/2026: Trench Crusade: Carcass Front Delayed Again

UPDATE: September 4, 2026: Carcass Front Arriving Ahead of Schedule

We have some unexpectedly good news regarding Trench Crusade: Carcass Front.

Earlier this evening, we received confirmation that our Carcass Front inventory is now expected to reach Wargame Portal ahead of the previously anticipated schedule.

Based on the latest information provided to us, we expect our shipment to arrive by the end of next week, putting the current arrival window on or before Friday, September 11.

This is a significant improvement over the mid-September timeline communicated in yesterday’s update.

Even better, we have also been informed that our incoming allocation has increased. Because we are now receiving more copies than originally expected, we have officially reopened Second-Wave preorders for Carcass Front.

Customers who missed the original preorder window can now reserve a copy from this additional allocation while quantities remain available.

All existing preorders remain reserved and will be processed first as inventory arrives. Once the shipment reaches Wargame Portal, our warehouse team will begin processing orders as quickly as possible.

After several rounds of delays and uncertain timelines, we are very happy to finally be able to share some positive movement on this release.

As always, we will continue updating this article if anything changes, but for now, Carcass Front is officially on the way to Wargame Portal and expected by the end of next week.

UPDATE: September 3, 2026: Carcass Front Retail Release Delayed Again

Trench Crusade has now issued a public update regarding the ongoing delay affecting Carcass Front, confirming that the problem is specifically impacting shipments to retailers and distributors.

According to their September update, posted on Facebook, orders placed directly through the Trench Crusade website have now shipped, but retail inventory has encountered additional logistical problems:

“Currently all pre-orders made directly through the Trench Crusade website have now been shipped. However, we have just been informed that unfortunately, there have been some issues with the shipments for stores and distributors.”

Trench Crusade has now provided its best estimate for when retail customers may begin seeing the product:

“The UK and Europe should start seeing Carcass Front on store shelves by next week.”

“The US and all other destinations should start seeing Carcass Front on store shelves the week after.”

For customers in the United States, this would currently place the expected retail availability window around mid-September, though this remains an estimate rather than a confirmed delivery date.

Trench Crusade also acknowledged the repeated delays affecting customers who ordered through local retailers:

“To all retailers, distributors and players who pre-ordered through your local stores, we are deeply sorry for the additional delay. Carcass Front is our first big release, and there have been some issues that we simply weren’t prepared for. Once again, we sincerely apologise for the delays: we are learning from our mistakes and we will do better in the future.”

This update is consistent with the information we have been receiving from our own distributor. As of September 3, Wargame Portal's distributor has still not received its Carcass Front inventory, meaning we unfortunately cannot begin shipping customer preorders until that inventory reaches the distributor and is subsequently delivered to us.

At this point, there is nothing further customers need to do. All affected Wargame Portal preorders remain active, and we will begin processing them as soon as our allocation physically arrives.

Trench Crusade has also extended the Worldwide Campaign through October 19, giving customers waiting on retail copies additional time to participate.

We will continue updating this article as additional information becomes available.

UPDATE 08/29/2026:
We have received another update regarding Trench Crusade: Carcass Front, and unfortunately, the release has been delayed further.

Our distributor has confirmed that they have not yet received the product, and at this time they have not been provided with a confirmed arrival date from Factory Fortress or Archon Studio.

Because of that, we currently do not have a reliable date we can provide for when Carcass Front will arrive at Wargame Portal.

The previously announced August 31, 2026 street date is no longer expected to be met through our distribution channel.

We know this has been yet another frustrating release from this studio, and we are frustrated with the situation as well. Between the repeated delays, limited retailer communication, and uncertainty surrounding incoming inventory, there is unfortunately very little additional information we can provide until the product actually begins moving through distribution.

All existing Wargame Portal preorders remain active and reserved.

We are continuing to communicate with our distributor and will update this article as soon as we receive meaningful new information regarding the arrival of Carcass Front.

Trench Crusade: Carcass Front Delayed Until August 31

As we suspected and mentioned in our June 24 newsletter, Trench Crusade: Carcass Front has officially been delayed.

Archon Studio has now issued a formal statement confirming that the new street date for Carcass Front is August 31, 2026. We have also received confirmation of the delay through the distributor we are required to use for this product line.

Why Was Carcass Front Delayed?

According to Archon Studio, the delay was primarily caused by last-minute improvements to the miniatures included in the box.

The development team made additional adjustments to part splits, fittings, mould lines, and other production details to improve the finished kits. Carcass Front contains two complete warband sets, both of which are among the most complicated miniature sets Archon has developed for Trench Crusade.

This is also the first time the studio has worked on two warbands of this complexity at the same time. While the additional work should result in better miniatures, it took longer than originally anticipated.

Those development changes then created delays in manufacturing and logistics.

Rather than shipping the release as each region received inventory, Archon made the decision to move the worldwide street date back by one month. This was intended to prevent major differences in availability between countries, distributors, retailers, and customers.

The StarCraft Delay Had Downstream Effects

We previously suspected that the ongoing delays affecting Archon Studio’s StarCraft release could have downstream effects on other products moving through the company’s manufacturing and distribution network.

That concern has now been confirmed through both Archon Studio and our distributor.

When a major release experiences production or logistical delays, it can affect factory schedules, freight availability, warehouse processing, and the distribution of products that follow it. Unfortunately, Carcass Front appears to have been caught in that chain of delays.

What This Means for Wargame Portal Orders

The previously announced official street date for Trench Crusade: Carcass Front was August 31, 2026.

As of our August 29 update above, our distributor has not yet received the product and currently has no confirmed arrival date from Factory Fortress or Archon Studio.

All Wargame Portal preorders will remain active and reserved. Customers do not need to take any action at this time.

We will ship orders as soon as inventory reaches our distributor, arrives at Wargame Portal, and becomes eligible for fulfillment.

We understand that these repeated delays are frustrating, particularly when firm dates are announced and then move again without much notice to retailers. We will continue communicating with our distributor and will keep this article updated as more information becomes available.

Thank you for your patience and for ordering Trench Crusade through Wargame Portal.
