Updated Order Emails Are Now Live
Long-time Wargame Portal customers may have noticed that some of our order emails look a little different lately. We’ve recently rolled out a completely updated set of email templates for order confirmations, shipping notifications, and other important order updates.
The goal was simple: make it easier to understand exactly what is happening with your order.
Our new templates feature a cleaner, more readable layout while also providing additional context about the items in your order. When applicable, emails can now more clearly identify products that are Backorders, Special Orders, or Preorders, along with relevant information about what those statuses mean and what you can expect next.
Clearer Preorder Shipping Notifications
One area we especially wanted to improve was preorder shipping confirmations.
Because we often prepare preorder shipments ahead of their official release date, customers may receive a shipping notification before the package is actually able to leave our facility. While this helps us get orders moving as quickly as possible once release day arrives, we know it has occasionally caused some confusion.
Our updated preorder shipping emails now include a notice prominently at the top explaining that the order is scheduled to ship on its official release date. While the order may not specifically what the release date is as we sell various products, we urge customers to check the release date posted on the product page for that relevant data. Those warnings are kept on the product until the day of it's release.
This should make it much clearer that receiving a tracking number does not necessarily mean a preorder has already left our warehouse, particularly when that notification arrives before street date.
More Information, Less Guesswork
These updates are part of our continued effort to provide better transparency throughout the ordering process. Whether you're purchasing something currently in stock, reserving a backordered item, placing a Special Order, or joining us for a new preorder release, we want the information you receive from us to be as clear and useful as possible.
Our development team put a lot of hours into rebuilding and testing these templates, and we hope the changes make shopping with Wargame Portal a little smoother and eliminate some of the guesswork surrounding order statuses and shipping notifications.
As always, thank you for shopping with Wargame Portal and for continuing to give us feedback on ways we can improve the experience.
