Games Workshop Pricing Update: Timeline
Beginning Saturday, September 19 at 12:00 PM EST, Wargame Portal will temporarily disable backordering for Games Workshop products ahead of the upcoming Games Workshop price change scheduled for September 21, 2026.
Because a large portion of the Games Workshop catalog will be receiving updated pricing, we need to temporarily prevent new backorders from being placed while we prepare our catalog and inventory systems for the change.
Why Are Backorders Being Disabled?
Backordered products are items that we do not currently have on hand but allow customers to reserve while we order additional inventory from Games Workshop.
With new Games Workshop pricing taking effect September 21, leaving backorders open during the transition could result in orders being placed using outdated pricing for inventory that would ultimately need to be purchased from Games Workshop at the new cost.
To avoid those issues, Games Workshop backordering will be disabled starting at 12:00 PM EST on Friday, September 18th. Backorder items will be marked as "Sold Out" during this downtime period.
This only affects the ability to place new backorders on Games Workshop products during the transition. Current in-stock inventory and Special Order items will remain unaffected.
Temporary Store Maintenance During the Price Update
Once we receive the finalized pricing information needed to complete the changeover, the Wargame Portal online store will also be temporarily taken offline during non-peak hours while our team updates the Games Workshop catalog.
With thousands of products and variants affected by manufacturer pricing changes, temporarily closing the storefront allows us to update and verify the catalog without customers checking out while pricing is actively being changed.
We will keep these maintenance windows to non-peak shopping hours whenever possible and will work to have the store reopened as quickly as the update process allows.

The new Games Workshop pricing officially takes effect Monday, September 21, 2026.
Once the pricing transition has been completed and our catalog has been verified, normal Games Workshop ordering functionality will resume.
We appreciate everyone's patience while we work through the update. Manufacturer-wide price changes require a considerable amount of catalog work behind the scenes, and temporarily limiting ordering helps us make the transition as cleanly as possible for both customers and our fulfillment team.
