Before we begin, if you do not use an e-mail alias app or setting, you may disregard this PSA.
Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen an uptick in support cases passed to us for missing order confirmations, tracking emails, and unregistered loyalty points.
After reviewing these tickets, we traced all of them back to a single issue: the use of email-masking tools like Apple’s “Hide My Email,” Firefox Relay, DuckDuckGo Email Protection, ProtonMail Aliases, and similar services.
We get it — privacy matters. But it’s important to understand that email aliases are just a privacy filter, not true cybersecurity. They won’t protect you from malicious access or account breaches — but they will cause real headaches when shopping with us and other retailers:
-
Orders won’t link to your main customer account.
-
PortalPass Points, and PortalPass+ / Military Discounts, won’t track properly.
-
Order confirmations and tracking updates often don’t arrive.
-
Masked emails can trigger fraud detection, causing orders to be declined.
-
Multiple duplicate accounts can be created for the same customer.
To avoid these problems, we strongly recommend using your real, consistent email for all orders and logins.
If you have shopped with us and used a method listed above in the past, reach out via in-store chat or email help@wargameportal.com — the support staff can help merge accounts and recover any lost rewards. If you haven't done so and have read this far? As previously stated, you can disregard this message.
