Some weeks feel like the Age of Sigmar team tosses a coin to decide who’s up next — this time, it landed squarely on the raging hordes of Khorne and the ever-canny Kharadron Overlords. Two wildly different armies, one release window — and it’s quite the haul if you’re thinking about starting, expanding, or just tweaking your collection.
Let’s break down what stands out, what we think is worth jumping on, and what you should watch out for if you’re planning to order through third-party retailers like us.
Blades of Khorne: For When You Need More Red on the Table

First up, the Blades of Khorne get a fresh battletome with the usual smorgasbord of updated rules, Spearhead tweaks, Regiments and Armies of Renown, and narrative goodies. If you love your armies looking like a murder cult that stumbled into a metal album cover, this is your bread and butter.

We’re seeing a few interesting new additions too — the Fangs of the Blood God Spearhead with Karanak and his hounds should be fun for fast, hero-hunting skirmishes. The Deathbringer mini has all the over-the-top trophy racks you’d expect, and the Claws of Karanak look like a solid pick if you want your Chaos army to drip with a bit more character (and blood).

The Goreblade Warband (previously Start Collecting: Khorne BloodBound) is another easy entry point — a tight bundle of key units to get you on the table fast.

Regiments of Renown like the Red Revelation bring that mercenary vibe that lets Khorne’s finest fight alongside other Chaos forces, so there’s flexibility if you’re a collector with a mixed army.

Kharadron Overlords: Bring Your Wallet — They’ll Take It Anyway

From savage axes to high-flying dirigibles, the Kharadron Overlords are back with an updated battletome and some long-needed new units. The big news here is the Grundstok Trailblazers Spearhead, which focuses on their shooty, elite elements — so if you love rolling buckets of dice from across the board, this is your jam.

The new Null-Khemist is a nice thematic twist, giving the duardin some anti-magic bite — good timing as we’re seeing more magic-heavy armies in the meta.

The Vongrim Harpoon Crew looks fantastic, though we’ll be interested to see how it performs — aethershot pistols or harpoons, pirate vibes intact.

Terrain-wise, the Zontari Endrin Dock gives you a literal floating platform to defend your cargo.

And, of course, there’s Drekki Flynt and his merry privateers in the Regiments of Renown: Drekki's Privateers — if you like playing the rogue captain archetype, this is about as on-brand as it gets for the Kharadron.
A Note on the Made to Order Terrain — Don’t Miss This
One thing that’s definitely worth highlighting — the wave of Made to Order Age of Sigmar terrain is a rare chance to snag classic kits that have been out of circulation for years. Whether you need a Citadel Wood or want to build an elaborate Stormvault complex, it’s all back for a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it window.
But! This terrain (and the special Gamer’s Edition battletomes with reference cards) are not available from third-party retailers like us. If you want these, you’ll need to order direct from Games Workshop. Same goes for the fancy warscroll cards and dice sets tied to the Gamer’s Editions — so plan your cart accordingly.
Extra Bits: Underworlds and Black Library

Underworlds gets Kamandora’s Blades, (a rather controversial addition to the range according to the web) a warband that’s basically a roaming pack of Khorne’s clean-up crew, plus the Raging Slayers Rivals Deck to encourage more all-in aggression. Not for everyone, but if you like your games bloody and straightforward, it’s right up your alley.

Finally, the new novel Queen of the Rose Throne continues the saga of Nyssa Volari — for the lore lovers, this could be a nice addition to your shelf. Remember that these will also be available in audiobook formats as well!
Our Take
Overall, this is a solid, well-rounded wave for both armies. Khorne players get fresh toys, returning favorites and some genuinely fun thematic elements to expand their lists. Kharadron players get more tricks to stay relevant — and some great new sculpts to break up the old fleet.
The bad though? There's not much that really screams "new," here outside of a few sculpts. It provides lots of bundled goods for new and returning collectors. Those collectors who have already collected these factions though may feel a bit underwhelmed with the lack of new shiny plastic for their respective factions.
Just remember: if you want the Gamer’s Editions, warscroll cards, or those nostalgic terrain sets, they’re direct-only from Games Workshop. For everything else, we’re ready to help you claim your share of the Mortal Realms right here when pre-orders go live!
